Jessica Green

Dr Jessica Green is a Senior Research Fellow at the Food & Mood Centre and Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Jessica Green is a Consultant Psychiatrist currently working in the public health sector in functional gut disorders and youth mental health. She has a sub-specialisation in structured psychotherapies, and provides gut-focused CBT to clients with Disorders of the Gut Brain Interaction.
Dr Green also holds academic appointments: as a Senior Research Fellow at Deakin University, an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University, and a clinician-academic at Barwon Health.
She completed her PhD at the Food & Mood Centre, IMPACT, Deakin University. Her research is focused on the gut-brain-axis and she led a trial investigating the use of Faecal Microbiota Transplants for Major Depressive Disorder.  She continues to be involved in clinical research in the area of the gut-brain axis. Dr Green is passionate about translation of research outcomes into clinical practice, and delivering holistic psychiatric care including psychotherapy, gut-brain-axis medicine and other novel evidence-based treatments.
