Tetyana Rocks

Dr Tetyana Rocks is a Fernwood Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Head of the Translational and Educational stream at the Food & Mood Centre. She is currently overseeing projects focused on developing new models of care and evaluating existing practices in mental health.

She has also created several educational resources and is extensively involved in education and training of professionals and community on the topic of Nutritional Psychiatry. As part of her role, she collaborates with a number of international and national organisation to synthesise, create and disseminate evidence on diet and mental and brain health, and is regularly invited to speak at academic, professional and community events.

Tetyana is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who competed her PhD at University of the Sunshine Coast. For her PhD, Tetyana focused on eating, exercise, and body attitudes and how these factors are influenced by nutrition knowledge. During her PhD, Tetyana also lectured in Nutrition and Dietetics at the USC, covering the areas of general nutrition, food, society and culture, and food sciences. Her specific interests include every day, simple nutrition for a healthy body and mind throughout the life stages. A devoted vegetable lover herself, Tetyana aims to spread the love and appreciation for good food to the wider community.

Tetyana is also supervising research projects in the following areas:

  • Gut microbiota in anorexia and atypical anorexia nervosa
  • Dietary intervention in post-traumatic stress disorders
  • Dietary intervention in mental health
  • Dietary intake and cognition
